Montes was founded in 1987 by Aurelio Montes, who left a secure career at 39 with five children to bet everything on a vision of premium Chilean wine — a decision he later admitted kept him awake at night for nearly a year. He went on to pioneer hillside viticulture in Chile's Apalta Valley, an area whose name literally means "poor soil," at a time when nobody else in South America was planting on slopes.

This Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère blend draws on that same quality-focused Colchagua Valley terroir, delivering ripe dark fruit, herbal notes, and the structured tannins typical of both varieties working in balance.

A well-rounded red for everyday drinking — good with grilled red meats or a simple pasta with tomato sauce.
