Luxardo Bitter White

Luxardo Bitter Bianco is essentially the family's classic red Bitter, reworked: the same infusion of bitter herbs, citrus, and aromatic plants is redistilled to strip out the colour, then a touch of wormwood is added back in to restore the bitterness the distillation process removes. It's a clever bit of reinvention of a recipe that traces back to the 1930s, giving bartenders a clear alternative to red aperitivos like Campari.

The result is bittersweet and citrus-forward, with ripe orange, gentian, and a touch of rhubarb, finishing with the same lingering bitterness as its red counterpart but without tinting a cocktail red.

The essential ingredient for a proper White Negroni — also excellent in a White Spritz with soda.
