Kahlúa's story begins in 1936 in Veracruz, Mexico, where Pedro Domecq combined the region's prized Arabica coffee with locally made rum to create something genuinely new. The name itself draws on the Nahuatl language native to the region, reflecting deep local roots that remain central to the brand to this day.

Made from Veracruz-grown coffee, sugar, and rum, rested for weeks to round out the bitterness and harmonise the flavours, it delivers a smooth, rich coffee character with notes of caramel and vanilla — the foundation of classics like the White Russian and the Espresso Martini.

Equally good poured over ice, mixed into a cocktail, or drizzled over ice cream.
