Hennessy's VSOP has a genuinely royal origin story: in 1817, the Prince Regent of Britain — later King George IV — asked the house to create a "very superior old pale" cognac, and the term has anchored the entire industry's age classification system ever since. The house itself was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, an Irish military officer exiled to France, whose family has overseen the blending of Hennessy cognacs for eight unbroken generations through the Fillioux family of master blenders.
This VSOP carries that legacy forward with real consistency: a blend of over sixty eaux-de-vie delivering dried fruit, oak, and gentle spice in a smooth, well-rounded profile.
A genuinely versatile cognac — equally good neat, on the rocks, or in a classic Sidecar.
