Giulio Cocchi was a young Florentine pastry chef who relocated to Asti, in Italy's Piedmont region, and in 1891 opened a distillery that would go on to define an entire category of Italian aperitif wine. His original recipes — still followed today by the Bava family, who've owned the company since 1978 — helped revive the historic Vermouth di Torino appellation after it nearly disappeared in the 20th century.
This Extra Dry expression uses Moscato wine as its base, a distinctively Cocchi touch, infused with citrus, gentian, and other botanicals for a crisp, herbal character that's drier and lighter than the house's famous sweet Storico vermouth.
The classic choice for a properly dry Martini, or simply chilled and sipped on its own.
