The 80 hectares vineyard of Lilian Ladouys is planted to 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. The vines are old, between 40 years to 60 years of age.
The terroir is typical of Saint Estephe with its gravel, clay and limestone soils. The estate practices organic farming methods. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tank. The wine is aged in 40% new French oak barrels for between 14 and 16 months.
"Aromas of raspberries, plums and spices, framed by creamy new oak, introduce the 2021 Lilian Ladouys, a medium to full-bodied, charming and seamless wine that's lively and open-knit. It's a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc."
