"The 2019 Fombrauge exhibits rich aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, plum preserve, licorice and new oak, followed by a full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate that's soft and fleshy, with a sweet core of fruit, ripe acids and rich, powdery tannins. This is a generous, front-loaded Saint-Émilion from Bernard Magrez."
90 Pts The Wine Advocate.
The origin of the name comes from Fons, which means source or fountain, and Brogiera, which evokes Buissons and Bruyères. Fombrauge has belonged to the lords of Canolle since the 15th century, the latter having made the lands grow, the vine in particular. During the 19th and 20th century, various owners succeeded each other. Fombrauge was finally acquired in 1999 by Bernard Magrez. The estate entered the Saint Emilion ranking in 2012. The renovation of the building and the gardens, the development of the installations or the establishment of a high -end receptive service have restored all its light to Fombrauge.
