Chateau Fayat, Pomerol 2014

The 16 hectares vineyard of Chateau Fayat is quite large for Pomerol. The vineyard is planted to 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc on gravel, sand, and clay.

The average age of the vines is an impressive 50 years old. They have some of the oldest vines in the Pomerol appellation as some Cabernet Franc was planted in 1902.

Deep and brilliant garnet red color. The 2014 Fayat has an intense bouquet with bold black cherry, blueberryandred fresh fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-like entry, almost Burgundy like in terms of tannic structure with vivid red cherry and kirsch notes tinged with blood orange. The tannins are fresh and elegant. Its purity andthe silky finish will give it wide appeal.
