Cabo Wabo's origin story belongs to rock and roll. Sammy Hagar, then of Van Halen, opened the original Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas in 1990, and a few years later commissioned a custom tequila from a family-owned Jalisco distillery — the Rivera family, who'd been making tequila since 1937 — to serve at his bar. What started as a house pour became a genuine phenomenon, eventually selling for $80 million.
This Reposado takes Cabo Wabo's signature "Thick Cut" tequila — made with a deliberately raw, unfiltered distillation that lets more agave character through — and rests it 4-6 months in American oak for added smoothness without losing that bold edge.
A tequila for good times rather than quiet contemplation — try it in a proper Margarita or simply over ice.
