Balvenie Doublewood Aged 12 Years

Balvenie sits just across the way from Glenfiddich in Dufftown, Speyside, founded by William Grant in 1892 — five years after his first distillery — and still one of the few Scottish distilleries to malt its own barley on traditional floors.

Doublewood lives up to its name: matured first in traditional American oak whisky casks, then finished in European oak sherry casks. The result is a single malt with real depth — honeyed sweetness layered over warm spice, a touch of cedar, and a delicate sherried fruitiness that lingers on the finish.

A classic after-dinner dram, equally at home with a square of dark chocolate or simply on its own.
