Agwaverde takes its name and inspiration from the coca leaf — a plant deeply woven into Bolivian and Andean culture for centuries, used traditionally for its mild stimulant and digestive properties long before it became associated with anything else. The liqueur draws on that heritage while being produced through modern, fully legal extraction methods that remove the alkaloid responsible for any psychoactive effect, leaving only the leaf's distinctive herbal character behind.
