Château Tour Maillet, Pomerol 2019

Château Tour Maillet is a boutique estate located in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, France. The vineyard spans approximately 2.2 hectares, planted exclusively with Merlot vines averaging 35 years of age. The soils are predominantly siliceous-gravelly, contributing to the wine's finesse and complexity. Harvesting is done manually with selective sorting to ensure optimal grape quality.

• Grape Variety: 100% Merlot

• Vinification: Cold maceration at 6°C for the first 4 days. Traditional fermentation with regular pump-over. 28 days of vatting

• Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% one-year-old).

• Production: Approximately 12,000 bottles.

• Alcohol: 15% ABV.

• Cellaring Potential: 15 to 20 years.

🍷 Tasting Notes

• James Suckling: Awarded a score of 95, noting aromas of blackberries, black olives, fresh flowers, and slate. Described as full-bodied with fantastic density and layering of ripe tannins and dark fruit.

• Jeb Dunnuck: Scored between 91–93, highlighting pure, modern notes of cassis, spicy oak, pencil lead, and dried violets. Praised for its elegant texture, integrated acidity, and outstanding length.
